PRODUCER BERNIE HERMS RECEIVES NOMINATIONS FOR
GMA MUSIC AWARDS

Song of the Year; Pop Contemporary Song of the Year; Worship Song of the Year; Special Event Album; Producer of the Year

New York, NY – (February 20, 2008) – Recently in Nashville, TN, the GMA Music Award nominations were announced and music producer Bernie Herms was nominated in five categories: Song of the Year; Pop Contemporary Song of the Year; Worship Song of the Year and Producer of the Year. The award show will be on April 23, 2008 with the airing station to be announced.

Over the past few years, Herms’ producing career has continued to flourish leading up to his current nomination for “Producer of the Year.” He has been a success producing, writing, and arranging for well-known artists such as Avalon, Casting Crowns, Brad Paisley, Red, Nate Sallie and most recently he produced the nominated song “In Better Hands” for Natalie Grant. This song is nominated for Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year. His production credits not only are for artists, but also for popular soundtracks such as The Nativity, Amazing Grace and Charlotte’s Web. His current productions can be heard on the new Natalie Grant album Relentless.

When not in the studio producing, Herms is busy songwriting. He co-wrote “Praise You In This Storm” which is nominated this year for “Worship Song of the Year” as well as 2 others on the Casting Crowns album called Lifesong. He also co-wrote “East to West” and “Every Man” on Casting Crowns Altar and the Door album. “East to West” is nominated for “Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year” this year. And finally, Herms is nominated for his collaboration on the “Special Event Album” for Music Inspired by the Motion Picture, Amazing Grace.
